Suntory Whiskey //
The Gem of Japanese Whisky
This campaign seeks to elevate the appreciation of Japanese whisky in Singapore by engaging a sophisticated audience. At its core, the initiative celebrates the impeccable craftsmanship and rich cultural heritage embodied in the iconic "KAKUBIN" bottle design, complemented by the whisky's timeless flavour and the artistry of its creators.
Suntory Whisky (Kakubin), crafted in 1937 by Shinjiro Torii, is the cornerstone of both Suntory and Japanese whisky. Celebrated for its harmonious blend of distinct flavors and key Yamazaki notes, it was the first blended whisky embraced by the Japanese for its subtle palate. Since its debut, it has remained Japan’s #1 bestselling whisky, cherished for its timeless appeal and unique character.
The Idea
The "Kakubin" bottle is a remarkable creation, characterized by its square tortoiseshell design—known as Kikko—masterfully crafted using the traditional "Satsuma Kiriko" glass-cutting technique. This pattern embodies the essence of Japanese craftsmanship.
I envision the bottle as a diamond—a timeless gem that reflects the notion that, like a diamond, the flavour of the whisky deepens with age.

The "KIKKO" pattern symbolizes happiness and good fortune, beautifully intertwining with the spirit of Japanese whisky-making, which harmonizes heritage and innovation.
This campaign positions the "KAKUBIN" bottle as a cultural icon, inviting the Singaporean audience to embark on an inspiring journey through design, flavour, and history, all within a genuinely sophisticated whisky experience.
